According to the report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports reached a record high of USD 7.12 billion in 2024 and are forecasted to exceed USD 8 billion in 2025. Vietnam's export markets are expanding significantly, particularly in countries such as China, the United States, ASEAN nations, and especially Europe, where the demand for Vietnamese tropical fruits is rapidly increasing.

Potential and Growth Prospects for Exports

Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports not only continue to maintain growth momentum but also promise great potential thanks to the international standard quality of its products and the ongoing expansion of markets. Currently, Vietnamese fruits and vegetables are present in over 60 countries, with China leading in market share, followed by the United States, ASEAN countries, and Europe. Notably, Vietnam has risen to the second position in the Chinese market, with exports to the U.S. increasing by over 30% and to Thailand by more than 80%.

According to Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Bình, Chairman of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, "This achievement is the result of years of investment and accumulation, particularly as fruit trees typically require 3–5 years to develop. Currently, the number of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables exported through official channels continues to grow, with 15 types of products already licensed for export to China. Products such as durian, avocado, and banana have recorded positive growth. Trade promotion activities for fruits and vegetables are receiving increasing attention and investment from various levels, sectors, and industry associations."
